Day 01: Arrival
Leh
: Reach
Leh and get a warm welcome from the tour representative on day 01 of
the Phyang Monastery Festival Tour. Transfer to the hotel and leisure
for rest of the day. Overnight stay at the hotel.

02: Leh Sight Seeing :
Day 02 of the tour
begins with a full day sightseeing tour of Shey, Thiksey and Phyang
monastery. Overnight stay at hotel at Leh.
Day
03: Leh - Sumur (Nubra Valley) :
Proceed to Nubra
Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass
on 13th July. Arrive Nubra Valley by noon and transfer to The Silk
Route Cottages. Leisure in the evening. Overnight stay at The Silk
Route Cottage.
Day
04: Nubra Valley Sight Seeing :
On day 04 visit the
White Sand Dunes at Hunder. Enjoy the camel ride and visit Hunder and
Diskit monasteries. Trek to Samstaling Monastery in the evening.
Overnight stay at The Silk Route Cottage.
Day
05: Sumur to Leh :
Take breakfast and
head for Leh driving via Khardungla pass the World Highest Motorable
road. In the evening explore the famous Leh bazaar for souvenir. Also
visit Leh Jokhang or Leh Mosque by foot. Overnight stay at the hotel.

05: Leh Sight Seeing :
Go on a sightseeing
tour of Spituk monastery on day 06 of Phyang Monastery Festival tour.
Visit Stakna and Matho in the afternoon. Overnight stay at the hotel.

06: Full Day at Phyang Festival :
Drive to Phyang
Monastery after taking breakfast and witness the famous
Phyang Festival (One of the major festivals of Buddhists, Phyang festival
is celebrated every year in the month of July with much fanfare).
Overnight stay at the hotel at Leh.
Phyang Monastery: Phyang
Monastery, 17km. west of Leh is remarkably built on the hilltop,
similar to the Likir monastery. This monastery belongs to the Degungpa
Order. It was the first monastery, which introduced the Degungpa
teaching of 'Skyob Jigsten Gonbo' in Ladakh that was founded by Chosje
Danma Kunga, during the reign of King Jamyang Namgyal in the 16th
Century A.D. It has about 50 monks in residence. Phyang also has a
festival called 'Phyang Tseruk' on the 2nd & 3rd of the 6th month of
Tibetan Calendar. Phyang Tsedup takes place in July / August. Like
other monasteries, monks wearing colorful brocade robes and Mask in
the form of different god and goddesses perform mask dances. The huge
Thanka of Skyoba Giksten Gonbo is hung in the courtyard during the
festival

07: Leh to Uletokpo :
On day 08 drive
from Leh to Uleytokpo. Enroute visit Alchi monastery. Post lunch walk
to the beautiful village of Mangyu. Stay overnight at the Uleytokpo
camps.
Day
08: Excursion to Lamayuru :
Day 09 of the
Phyang Monastery Festival begins with a morning excursion to Lamayuru
monastery. Later also visit the Rizong monastery and Chulichan
nunnery. Overnight stay at Uleytokpo camps.
Day
09: Uletokpo to Leh :
Drive back to Leh
on day 10 of Phyang Monastery festival tour and enroute visit the
Likir monastery. In the evening visit places like Stok Palace and
museum. Overnight stay at hotel at Leh.
Day 10 : Transfer
to Leh airport to board a flight for the onward destination.
